Privacy Notice

Last updated: 30 October 2026

This notice explains how we use personal data when you visit this website, get a price, join Ridgewatch or use your membership.

1. Who we are

Ridgewatch is sold and run by Embrace Your Chaos (“EYC”, “we”, “us”). Embrace Your Chaos is a trading name of Tomas McGinn. Embrace Your Chaos is the data controller of your personal data, which means we decide how and why it is used and we are responsible for looking after it under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

WhatsApp: 07412 757620

Contact for privacy questions: hello@ridgewatch.embraceyourchaos.co.uk

2. What we collect

  • Contact details: name, email address, phone number.
  • Property details: property address and postcode, type of home, whether you’re a homeowner or landlord, access notes.
  • Membership records: start date, term, visits, roof condition reports and certificates, photos and notes of your roof, repairs carried out.
  • Payment information: handled by our payment processor. We don’t store full card details.
  • Messages: what you tell us through forms, email, phone or messages.
  • Website data: basic technical data and cookies (see section 9).
  • Tenant details (landlord members): where a landlord gives us a tenant’s contact details so we can arrange access. We use them only to arrange the visit time with the tenant. If you’re a landlord member, please tell your tenant that you’ve shared their details with us for this, and point them to this notice.

4. Who we share it with

  • Our trade partner, RooFix Solutions Ltd, carries out the roof work for us and processes your data on our behalf (as a processor) to book and carry out visits and produce your reports, under a written agreement with us. Where RooFix Solutions keeps its own records to meet its own legal duties, such as health and safety or tax records, it does so as a separate controller.
  • GoHighLevel (HighLevel LLC and LeadConnector LLC, in the United States) acts as our processor and provides our customer records, forms, booking and checkout systems.
  • Stripe processes payments. It acts as our processor, and as a separate controller for its own fraud-prevention and legal duties (see Stripe’s privacy notice).
  • Professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires it.
  • If you’re a landlord member, your tenant’s details are shared with RooFix Solutions only to arrange access.

We don’t sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

RooFix Solutions does its work in the UK. Two of our providers store or access data in the United States:

  • GoHighLevel (customer records, forms, bookings and checkout). It is certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (the “UK–US data bridge”), which we rely on for transfers to it (checked 30 October 2026). If that certification stops, its data processing agreement uses the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses. GoHighLevel may use its own sub-processors in other countries, under its own safeguards.
  • Stripe (payments). Stripe, LLC is certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which we rely on (checked 30 October 2026). If that certification stops, Stripe’s data processing agreement uses the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

You can ask us for more detail using the contact details in section 1.

6. How long we keep it

We keep membership and contract records for the life of your membership plus 6 years. If you only asked for a quote and didn’t join, we keep your enquiry for 12 months and then delete it.

7. Keeping it safe

We use reputable providers and limit access to the people who need it to run your membership.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, have it corrected, have it deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, and move it to another provider (data portability), in the circumstances set out in data protection law. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use your rights, contact us using the details in section 1. We’ll reply within one month, and there’s usually no charge.

9. Cookies

We use only the cookies the site needs to work and to keep it secure, plus those set by our checkout and form providers. We don’t use analytics or advertising cookies.

10. Complaints

11. Changes

We’ll update this notice when things change and show the date at the top.

Marketing. We only send marketing emails if you opt in, and every one includes a simple way to unsubscribe. Service messages about your membership, such as renewal reminders, aren’t marketing and we’ll still send them.
