What if my roof isn’t up to standard?
- You join online and make your first monthly payment.
- A roofer from our trade partner, RooFix Solutions Ltd, inspects your roof at your first visit, booked after your 14-day cooling-off period.
- If your roof doesn’t meet the standard, we put your membership on hold. We don’t take any more payments while it’s on hold, and we send you a written quote for the work needed to bring it up to standard. You can use us for the work, or your own roofer.
- When the work is done, an engineer from our trade partner, RooFix Solutions Ltd, re-inspects your roof. If it meets the standard, your membership resumes and payments restart.
- Your 24-month term starts on the date your membership resumes, not the date you first joined.
While your membership is on hold, membership benefits don’t apply. That includes urgent repairs, the repair allowance and the gutter clean.
If you don’t go ahead. If you turn down the quote, or don’t reply within 60 days of receiving it, your membership ends. We keep your first monthly payment to pay for the inspection, and there’s nothing more to pay. The early-cancellation charge doesn’t apply.
Using your own roofer. You’re welcome to use your own roofer to bring your roof up to our minimum standard. Before your membership resumes, an engineer from our trade partner, RooFix Solutions Ltd, re-inspects the work. The re-inspection is free.
If the re-inspection finds your roof still isn’t up to standard, your membership doesn’t resume. It stays on hold, with no payments taken and no membership benefits, and we tell you the reasons in writing. It resumes only once your roof passes a re-inspection, and your 24-month term runs from that date.
If your roof isn’t brought up to standard within 60 days of our written reasons, your membership ends. We keep your first monthly payment to pay for the inspection, and there’s nothing more to pay. The early-cancellation charge doesn’t apply.

Visits and repairs

What counts as urgent?
How do I report an urgent repair?
How do you know I’m a member?
When can I report an urgent repair?
How quickly are non-urgent visits?
Are call-outs free?
When can I book?
What does the £150 allowance include?
Is there a waiting period?
Is scaffolding included?
What isn’t included?
- Problems that existed before you joined and are found at your first visit. We’ll tell you about them and can quote to fix them
- Storm or structural damage beyond routine maintenance, such as a collapsed chimney, a lost section of roof or damaged roof timbers. We can quote for this separately
- Anything involving asbestos
- Scaffolding, access towers, cherry pickers and any other access equipment, unless your bespoke package says they’re included. All included work is ladder work from the ground. If a job needs access equipment, we quote for it separately first, and the £150 repair allowance can’t be used towards it
- Full roof replacements or large-scale renewals
- The part of any repair above the £150 allowance, and any visits beyond your one scheduled and one urgent visit a year. We quote first, and nothing goes ahead without your agreement
- Damage inside the home, including decoration and contents
- Work by other trades (Ridgewatch is roof work only)
- Flat roof work beyond routine checks and small repairs within the £150 allowance. Anything larger is quoted first
- Urgent repairs in the first 30 days of a new membership
- Any benefits while your membership is on hold because your roof doesn’t meet our minimum standard
